New instrument panel groups can be installed in the machines listed above. The new instrument panel groups use bayonet mount light bulbs to provide better light bulb retention. The push-in mount light bulbs could come loose from the earlier instrument panel groups. Use the following method and illustrations to install the new instrument panel groups that use the bayonet mount bulbs. The new parts required are shown in the charts.
768C, 772B Tractors, 769C, 773B Trucks, 771C, 775B Quarry Trucks

1. Remove the front cover from the cab and unplug the instrument panel wiring harnesses from the main cab wiring harness.
2. Remove the six screws that hold the instrument panel group in place. Remove the instrument panel group from the truck.
3. Install the film (3) and gasket (5) on the dash assembly (4).
4. Mark the wiring harness terminal locations on the EMS, gauges, key switch and rocker switches. Disconnect the wiring harness from the original 8X-0892 Dash Assembly.
5. Install the EMS, gauges, key switch and rocker switches in the new dash assembly (4). Connect the new harness assemblies (1 and 2) to the EMS, gauges, key switch and rocker switches.
6. Install the lamps (6 and 7) in the harness assembly sockets. Plug the lamp sockets in the dash assembly as shown in the illustration and chart.
7. Install the new instrument panel assembly in the cab. Use the six original screw to hold the new instrument panel assembly in place.

8. Connect the instrument panel wiring harnesses to the main cab wiring harness. Install the front cover.
NOTE: If the machine was not equipped with AETA (Automatic Electronic Traction Aid), there will be wires in the new harness that will not be used.
776C Tractors, 777C Trucks

1. Remove the front cover from the cab and unplug the instrument panel wiring harnesses from the main cab wiring harness.
2. Remove the six screws that hold the instrument panel group in place. Remove the instrument panel group from the truck.
3. Install the film (3) and gasket (5) on the dash assembly (4).
4. Mark the wiring harness terminal locations on the EMS, gauges, key switch and rocker switches. Disconnect the wiring harness from the original 8X-0892 Dash Assembly.
5. Install the EMS, gauges, key switch and rocker switches in the new 108-3248 Dash Assembly. Connect the new harness assemblies (1 and 2) to the EMS, gauges, key switch and rocker switches.
6. Install the lamps (6 and 7) in the harness assembly sockets. Plug the lamp sockets in the dash assembly as shown in the illustration and chart.
7. Install the new instrument panel assembly in the cab. Use the six original screw to hold the new instrument panel assembly in place.

8. Connect the instrument panel wiring harnesses to the main cab wiring harness. Install the front cover.
