New Parts Service Bearing Available For The A-frame Head Mounting Arrangement{7200}

D250B (5WD1-Up),
D300B (4SD1-Up) Articulated Trucks

A new bearing for parts service is available for the A-frame head mounting arrangement. The new bearing can be greased and will provide longer service life.

The new 2U-8420 Bearing can be used on all D250B and D300B Articulated Trucks when it is installed along with the parts shown in the chart. The location of the parts is shown in the illustration.


Location of the new parts.

To install the new parts, use an 11.5 mm (.45 in) drill to increase the size of the five holes (A) in the A-frame and install the parts as shown. Make sure there is no corrosion, paint or debris at the mating surfaces of the 2U-8422 Block (10) and the machine frame.

* Tighten the bolts (5) to 70 ± 15 N·m (50 ± 10 lb ft).
* Tighten the bolts (8) to 370 ± 50 N·m (275 ± 35 lb ft).
* Tighten the bolts (6) to 700 ± 90 N·m (520 ± 65 lb ft).

To grease the new 2U-8420 Bearing, remove the plug from the bottom of the eye in the A-frame and install a 3B-8489 Grease Fitting (12). The lubrication interval is every 10 hours.
