--------------- END SUPPLEMENT ---------------

In 1987, an automatic ether starting aid system was added to the 3500 engines in the above machines. In 1990, an improved automatic ether starting aid system was introduced. This improved system cost more than the earlier system.

With the introduction of EUI and electronic engine controls, the improved automatic ether starting aid system is not needed. The earlier system is used with the EUI engines.

Many earlier 3500 engine powered machines, equipped with earlier automatic ether starting aid systems, are being updated to the improved automatic ether starting aid system. If there is a possibility the 3500 engine may be converted to EUI, you may want to hold off updating ether starting aid system. This is because the earlier ether starting aid system is compatible and needed with the EUI engines.
