Power Beyond For Challenger Agricultural Tractors{5057}

Usage:

Challenger 65C (2ZJ),
Challenger 70C (2YL),
Challenger 75C (4KK),
Challenger 85C (9TK) Agricultural Tractors

Hydraulic orbital motors often demand a high hydraulic oil flow rate. The orbital motors are used to power fans, augers, or other accessories that require constant power on airseeders, chemical applicators, and others. The large hydraulic oil flow rates through the machine's implement quick disconnect couplers and hydraulic valves creates a large pressure loss.

Operators often bypass the return oil around the quick couplers and hydraulic valves to avoid the pressure loss and the associated heat generation. If the operation requires control of the implement hydraulic flow from the cab, the orbital motor oil supply line must be connected to a quick disconnect coupler.

NOTICE

NOTICE It is very important the operators DO NOT bypass the implement return oil filter and return screen (housed in manifold) and return the orbital motor return oil directly to the hydraulic tank.

The following orbital motor supply, return and signal line routing methods allow the operator to bypass the implement quick couplers and the hydraulic valves but still direct the return oil through the implement return oil filter and return screen before it returns to the hydraulic tank.

(E) Return line from implement. (F) Elbow (swivel). (G) Pump signal line. (H) Signal line from implement. (J) Signal line to implement.

1. Disconnect implement filter return line (A) from valve stack.

NOTE: If machine has an attachment PTO, do the following: Install elbow (swivel) (4) to connector at implement return port, before installation of tee (swivel) (1).

2. Install tee (swivel) (1) to connector (C) at implement return port with cap (2) and seal (3).

NOTE: Install cap (2) and seal (3) to tee (swivel) (1) when implement is not in use.

3. Connect implement filter return line (A) and low pressure return line (E) from the implement to tee (swivel) (1).

4. Remove supply line (B) from implement pump and elbow from valve stack end cover.

5. Install tee (5) to implement supply port with cap (2) and seal (3).

NOTE: Install cap (2) and seal (3) to tee (5) when implement is not in use.

6. Connect supply line (B) from implement pump and supply line (D) to implement to tee (5).

7. Remove pump signal line (G) from elbow (F) and rotate elbow (F) 180 degrees.

8. Assemble union (6) to pump signal line (G). Connect signal line (H) from implement to union (6).

NOTE: If the implement does not have a shuttle valve, refer to chart 1 for valve and connectors. If hoses are needed, procure high pressure hydraulic (four ply spiral wire reinforced) 9.52 mm (.375 in) inside diameter hose [rated for 20700 kPa (3000 psi) or greater].

9. Connect signal line (J) from the external implement valve to elbow (F).

Machines Without Power Beyond:

1. Disconnect implement filter return line (A) from valve stack.

2. Remove elbow at location (E) and install tee (swivel) (1) to connector (C) at implement return port with cap (2) and seal (3).

NOTE: Install cap (2) and seal (3) to tee (swivel) (1) when implement is not in use.

3. Connect implement filter return line (A) and low pressure return line at location (E) from the implement to tee (swivel) (1).

4. Remove supply line (B) from implement pump and remove elbow from valve stack end cover.

5. Install tee (4) to implement supply port with cap (2) and seal (3).

NOTE: Install cap (2) and seal (3) to tee (4) when implement is not in use.

6. Connect supply line (B) from implement pump and supply line (D) to implement to tee (4).

7. Remove pump signal line (G) from swivel elbow (F) and rotate elbow (F) 180 degrees.

8. Assemble union (5) to pump signal line (G). Connect signal line (H) from implement to union (5).

NOTE: If the implement does not have a shuttle valve, refer to chart 2 for valve and connectors. If hoses are needed, procure high pressure hydraulic (four ply spiral wire reinforced) 9.52 mm (.375 in) inside diameter hose [rated for 20700 kPa (3000 psi) or greater].

9. Connect signal line (J) from implement to swivel elbow (F).

Machines With Power Beyond:

NOTE: For machines with the three point hitch attachment, the implement signal port is located on the rear of a manifold located between the implement valve stack and the hitch valve instead of in the implement valve end cover. All other modifications to add implement power beyond would be consistent with the modifications for each model.

1. Remove cap (2) from tee (swivel) (1) at implement valve return port.

2. Connect low pressure return line (E) from the implement to tee (swivel) (1).

3. Remove cap (2) from tee (4) at implement valve supply port.

4. Connect implement supply line (D) to tee (4).

5. Remove pump signal line (G) from elbow (F) and rotate elbow (F) 180 degrees.

7. Connect signal line (J) from implement to elbow (F).

Machines With The Three Point Hitch Attachment:

Illustration 3 (5) Union. (F) Tube assembly. (G) Pump signal line. (H) Signal line from implement. (J) Signal line to implement.

1. Disconnect pump signal line (G) and remove tube assembly (F).

3. Connect signal line (J) from implement to connector (K).
