Usage:
start by:
a) remove brake head assemblies
1. Remove bolts (3) from the brake head assembly.
2. Remove two pins (1) and brake lining (2) from the brake head assembly.
3. Install C-clamps (5) as shown to hold the pistons (plate side) in the brake head assembly.
4. Install block (4) so that the maximum travel distance between block (4) and pistons (6) is not more than 1.378 in. (35 mm).
5. Put air free of water under a pressure of 100 to 150 psi (690 to 1030 kPa) into the brake head assembly to move out pistons (6).
6. Remove the block, the C-clamps, pins (8) and brake lining (7) from the brake head assembly.
7. Remove pistons (6) from the brake head.
8. Remove bolts (9) and plate (10) from the brake head.
9. Remove plugs (11) from the brake head.
10. Remove seals (12) from the brake head.
11. Remove pistons (13) from the brake head.
12. Remove boots (14) from both sides of the brake head.
13. Remove seals (15) from both sides of the brake head.
Assemble Brake Head Assemblies
1. Install seals (1) in the brake head.
2. Install boots (2) as shown in the brake head.
3. Put pistons (3) in position in the brake head as shown.
4. Install seals (4) in the brake head (plate side) as shown.
5. Install plugs (5) on the brake head with the curved side down as shown.
6. Install plate (6) on the brake head with the bolts that hold it. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 70 ± 5 lb.ft. (95 ± 7 N·m).
7. Put brake linings (7) in position on the brake head.
8. Install pins (8) that hold the brake linings in place in the brake head.
9. Install bolts (9) in the brake head that hold the pins in place.
