NOTE: This Program can be administered either before or after a failure. In either case the decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS4740" as the Part Number and "7755" as the Group Number. If administered before failure, use "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "T" as the SIMS Description Code. If administered after failure, use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

The feeder sensor part number 121-7386 may fail due to moisture entry on certain AP-650B, AP-1000B, AP-1050B, and AP-1055B Asphalt Pavers; and on certain Barber-Greene BG-225C, BG-245C, BG-260C, and BG-2455C Asphalt Pavers manufactured by Caterpillar. The sensor has been replaced with a new sensor and mounting block.

Rework Procedure
1. Remove the paddle sensor assembly from the machine. See Illustration 1.

2. Remove (2) 6B4540 Screws and (2) 8T8908 holding the sensor to the mounting block. See Illustration 2.

3. Install the new PWM sensor, mounting block and o-ring to the mounting bracket. Tighten the 6B4540 Screws to a torque of 18 lb. in.
4. Recalibrate the paddle sensors using KENR2861 Conveyor Electronic Control System Service Manual.
