Description of Change: A new yoke and retainer assembly are used in the transfer gear group on 772B Tractors and 773B Trucks. These new parts give the yoke more positive retention. The relative motion between the former yoke and the gear resulted in excessive spline wear.
Adaptable To: The new 6Y8972 Yoke and 6Y9220 Retainer Assembly, when used together, are direct replacements for the former 9G8507 Yoke and 9G8205 Retainer. The torque for the 8T0377 Bolt is 270 ± 25 N·m (200 ± 18 lb ft).
