Usage:
D7G, D8K, D9E, D9G, D9H, D10 and 824C Tractors;
825C and 826C Compactors
A plastic check valve is used in the hydraulic tank drain of all of the above models and in the transmission oil tank on D10 Tractors. After the drain plug is removed, a 7B9008 Nipple must be installed in the opening before the check valve will let the oil drain. This valve can be damaged if the 7B9008 Nipple is installed too far into the drain plug opening.
The correct procedure is to install the nipple into the drain opening just far enough to move the check valve off its seat. The oil will then drain through the nipple. If the nipple is installed too far, the plastic check valve can break off. On hydraulic tanks, this can cause a restriction in the hydraulic suction lines that will damage the oil pump.
