Reference: Special Instruction, SEHS9015, "Oil Seal Replacement for Jacket Water Pumps."
Description of Change: A new oil seal is used in water pumps on the 3500 Family Of Engines. The new seal has hydrodynamic grooves instead of the former lip-type seal. The new seal will help eliminate wear on the water pump shaft.
Adaptable To: The new 8C5236 Seal is a direct replacement for the former 2P6286 Seal. Care must be taken during the assembly of the new seal to prevent seal damage. See the Special Instruction for the correct assembly procedure.
