Description of Change: A new piston cooling jet is used in the 3500 Family of Engines. The new cooling jet orifice is shorter in length while the diameter of the orifice remains unchanged. The shorter orifice length allows improved oil flow through the jet when oil viscosity is extremely heavy, but will not allow additional oil flow with hot oil. This will ensure enough cooling oil for the piston during cold weather starts.
Adaptable To: The new 9Y2607 Jet Assembly is a direct replacement for the former 1W8598 Jet Assembly.
