All Series G Motor Graders

There may be conditions, such as loose soil or rough terrain or rough haul roads, where the standard suspension seat (6W2917) does not provide an acceptable ride to the operator on Series G Motor Graders. Such conditions can create an over-reaction from the suspension members of this seat. This can result in additional bouncing of the seat because the adjustable suspension feature may not have enough range to dampen the bouncing.

In some cases, the static-type seat (6W8897 Basic Seat Group) will provide an acceptable ride in place of the suspension seat. This seat can be installed on any Series G Motor Grader, and has been available as an attachment for some time for the 120G, 130G, and 140G Motor Graders. This seat can be adjusted to three height levels, but four bolts must be removed to change the adjustment.

To replace the suspension seat with the static-type seat, the following parts are needed. The listed parts can be installed as direct replacements for the suspension seat parts.
