Usage:
785, 789 Trucks
New ring seals are available for parts service for the front and rear suspension groups on 785 and 789 Trucks. These seals are to be used where leakage has been experienced at low temperatures. The new seals are not to be used on trucks equipped with load sensing devices because the new seals will produce inaccurate readings for these systems.

2. Install the piston on the rod.
3. Slide the head up the rod to just beneath the eye.
4. Move each new seal over the eye.
5. Install the seals in the grooves in the head as shown in Illustration 2.
6. Move the wiper over the eye and install it in the head.
7. Slide the head down over the rod by striking each side of the head at the head at the same time with a soft hammer.
NOTICE |
---|
The new seals can be damaged when passing over the check ball holes if the rod is installed through the head from the piston end. Installing the piston on the rod before installing the seals insures correct assembly.
