Description of Change: New thrust washers are used in the six wheel drive transfer gearbox on the above models. The new thrust washer gives improved service life compared to the former thrust washer. The new and former parts look the same. Both parts are made from steel, although the material specification is different. The thrust washers are installed in the positions shown in the illustration.

Adaptable To: The new 7U2835 Thrust Washer is a direct replacement for the former 4U6674 Thrust Washer and is adaptable to all earlier trucks. Use 7U2835 Thrust Washer in this application whenever a gearbox is disassembled. The 7U2835 Thrust Washer also supersedes 4U6674 Thrust Washer for parts service in all applications. However, existing stock of 4U6674 can be depleted in other applications. Do not mix the parts. They may look the same but they are not the same.
