Three Ring Piston Body Assembly Available To Replace The Two Ring Piston Body Assembly{1214}

Usage:

3208 (01Z17347-25508) Marine Engines Rated At 425HP

Description of Change: A three ring body assembly is available to replace the two ring piston body assembly in the above marine engines with 7E-0425, 7E-0426 or 9Z-6965 Basic Engine Arrangements. The three ring piston design reduces crankcase fumes and oil carryover. This helps prevent turbocharger compressor and aftercooler core fouling. It extends air filter element life, reduces oil consumption and black smoke levels.

Adaptable To: The 101-0812 Body Assembly is adaptable to the above 3208 425HP Direct Injection Turbocharged Aftercooled (DITA), Separate Circuit Aftercooled (SCAC) Marine Engines.

NOTICE

The 101-0812 Body Assembly cannot be mixed with two ring pistons in the same engine. The 130-3987 Piston Ring (Top), 130-3997 Piston Ring (Intermediate) and 7E-7297 Piston Ring Assembly (oil ring) MUST be used with the 101-0812 Body Assembly. The 101-0812 Body Assembly has a higher top ring position, so any cylinder bore wear step or carbon ridge must be removed prior to installation to prevent ring failure.

NOTE: The 101-0812 Body Assembly is compatible with the 4N-6750 Flywheel Assembly and the 7C-8119 Crankshaft Damper Assembly.
