3208 (4NG, 01Z) Marine Engines
Description of Change: The flywheel housings in the above engines have been improved to prevent water entry. A cover, gasket and plugs prevent water entry and eliminates corrosion of the marine gear coupling, gear, flywheel and flywheel ring gear.
Adaptable To: The improved 2W-6310 Flywheel Housing Group has a 3N-4088 Cover and a 3N-4087 Gasket to seal the clutch adjustment hole at the bottom of the housing. Four 5/16-18 9L-9178 Bolts with a corrosion resistant Dacroment 320© coating, secure the 3N-4088 Cover and 3N-4087 Gasket to the 2W-6310 Flywheel Housing Group. Two 1B-5567 Screw Plugs coated with 1E-2200A Adhesive/Sealant, seal the two 3/4-10 bolt holes in the bottom of the 2W-6310 Flywheel Housing Group. The lower rear mounting pad 1/2-13 bolt holes on each side of the 2W-6310 Flywheel Housing Group are sealed with 4J-6953 Set Screws.
The improved 2W-6310 Flywheel Housing Group is adaptable to the above 3208 Direct Injection Turbocharged (DIT), Direct Injection Turbocharged Aftercooled (DITA)/Separate Circuit Aftercooled (SCAC) Engines.
