Start By:

  1. Remove the aftercooler. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, Aftercooler - Remove and Install.

  2. Remove the exhaust manifold shield. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, Exhaust Manifold Shield - Remove and Install.


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

  1. Remove bolts (1) and (3).

  2. Remove elbow (4) with flange (2).

  3. Remove gaskets (5) and (6).

  4. Remove flame arrestor assemblies (7).

  5. Remove flanges (2).

  6. Remove O-ring seals (8).

  7. Repeat Steps 1 through 6 for left side of engine.

  8. Remove bolts (9) and air inlet adapter (10).

  9. Remove gasket (11).

  10. Remove bolts (12) and plug (13).

  11. Remove plate (14).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install gasket (15).

  2. Install plate (14).

  3. Install bolts (12) and plug (13).

  5. Install air inlet adapter (10) and bolts (9).

  6. Install new O-ring seals (8). Apply Tooling (A) to installed O-ring seals (8).

  7. Install flanges (2).

  8. Install flame arrestor assemblies (7).

  9. Install gaskets (5) and (6).

  10. Position elbow (4) with flange (2).

  11. Install bolts (1) and (3).

  12. Repeat Steps 6 though 11 for left side of engine.
