The problem that is identified below does not have a known permanent solution. Until a permanent solution is known, use the solution that is identified below.
Problem
The torsional vibration or movement of the 1250kVA engine exceeds the damper capability and causes over heating of damper. This may lead to damper failure and eventual crank failure.
Solution
Caterpillar ® is aware of the problem. As an interim repair, reduce the load to 1100kVA standby or lower. In case of damper failure, replace the damage damper with new part of same 213-3199 Damper.
