Procedure to Replace the One Piece Window with the Two Piece Window on Certain Next Generation Hydraulic Excavators {7310}

Removal Procedure

Retain all parts for reassembly after installing the new window and wiper.

  1. Move wiper arm (A) away from the cab.

  2. Remove hose (B) from wiper arm (A).

  4. Remove wiper (D) from wiper arm (A).

    Note: Discard wiper after removal.

  5. Remove bolts (F) and striker (E).

  6. Remove screws (G), cover (H), and screen (J).

  7. Remove brackets (K) and the screws securing the brackets in place.

    Note: Discard the brackets after removal.

  8. Remove glass (L) and seal (M).

    Note: Discard the glass and seal after removal.

Installation Procedure

Installing Upper Window

  1. Install seal (11).

  2. Install bracket assembly (8) and secure using two screws (15). Tighten to a torque of 12 ± 3 N·m (106.2 ± 26.6 lb in).

  3. Install switch assembly (7) on top of bracket assembly (8) and secure using bolt (1). Tighten to a torque of 1.7 ± 0.4 N·m (15.05 ± 3.54 lb in).

  4. Connect wiper harness assembly to switch (7). The harness is located behind panel (N). Remove panel (P), screw (R), and panel (N) to access the wiper harness.

  5. Install stopper (2) on the left and right-hand side.

  6. Install bracket (10) on the left and right-hand side. On the left-hand side secure using two screws (15) and two spacers (14). On the right-hand side secure using two screws (15). Tighten all four screws to a torque of 12 ± 3 N·m (106.2 ± 26.6 lb in).

  7. Remove the lower-left bracket from the new window group.

  8. Remove rear header cover (S). Remove screws (T) and plugs (U).

    Note: Retain parts for reassemble after installation of the new window.

  9. Install cable assembly (7) and secure the assist box using two screws (15). Tighten to a torque of 12 ± 3 N·m (106.2 ± 26.6 lb in).

  10. Insert cable (W) into guide rail (V). Refer to Illustration 17.

  11. Install cable (W) to window group (5). Attach cable (W) with pin (Y) of window group (5).

    Note: Cable (W) is outside plate (X) of window group (5).

  12. Insert cable (W) into guard rail (V) at the bottom of window group (5). Confirm that connecting part (Z) is inside guard rail (V).

  13. Install window group (5) onto the cab. Insert rollers (AA), at each corner bracket, into the guard rail.

  14. Reinstall the lower-left bracket removed during Step 7. Ensure that the roller on the bracket is in the guard rail.

  15. Remove two bolts (AB) from the assist box to allow it to operate when opening the window.

  16. Install the brackets along the roof of the cab as follows:

    1. On the right-hand side, install bracket (9) and secure using two screws (16). Tighten to a torque of 12 ± 3 N·m (106.2 ± 26.6 lb in).

    2. On the left-hand side, install bracket (3), shim (4), and secure using two screws (15). Tighten to a torque of 12 ± 3 N·m (106.2 ± 26.6 lb in).

    3. On the back left pillar, install cover (12), bracket (13), two spacers (14), and secure using two screws (16). Tighten to a torque of 12 ± 3 N·m (106.2 ± 26.6 lb in).

  17. After completing all the installation steps for the upper window group, ensure that there is no problem opening or closing the window. Ensure that the window locks into place when in the open or closed position.

Installing Lower Window

  1. On each of the left and right-hand side bracket assemblies, install stopper (21) and insulation (23).

  2. Install seal (17) on each of the bracket assemblies.

  3. Install right-hand side bracket (18), left-hand side bracket (19), and secure using four screws (15). Tighten to a torque of 12 ± 3 N·m (106.2 ± 26.6 lb in).

  4. Install seal (22) along the bottom of the cab window frame.

  5. Install glass (20) as shown.

  6. Reinstall striker (E) and secure using bolts (F) removed in Step 5.

  7. Reinstall cover (H), screen (J), and secure using screws (G) removed in Step 6.

Installing Two Piece Wiper

  1. Insert clip (AC) onto plate (AD).

  2. Reassemble wiper arm (A) with plate (AD) and new two piece wiper (24). Secure with bolt (C) removed in Step 3.

  3. Reconnect hose (B) removed in Step 2.

  4. Move wiper arm (A) to the correct position again the cab.
