Fuel Cooler - Remove and Install

Usage:

797F LTZ

Removal Procedure

------ WARNING! ------

Personal injury or death may result from failure to adhere to the following procedures.

Fuel leaked or spilled onto hot surfaces or electrical components can cause a fire.

Clean up all leaked or spilled fuel. Do not smoke while working on the fuel system.

Turn the disconnect switch OFF or disconnect the battery when changing fuel filters.



NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, PERJ1017, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.


  1. Turn the fuel shut off valve to the off position.

  2. Remove bolts (1) and grill (2).

  3. Disconnect hose assemblies (3) and (4). Remove the O-ring seals.

  4. Remove bolts (5) and fuel cooler (6).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install fuel cooler (6) in the reverse order of removal.
