Removal Procedure

Start By:

1. Remove the wheel lean bar.

2. Remove the wheel spindle and wheel spindle housing.

When you are using hydraulic cylinders and puller studs, always ensure that the rated capacity of the puller stud meets or exceeds the rated capacity of the hydraulic cylinder. If the puller stud does not meet or exceed the rated capacity of the hydraulic cylinder, a sudden failure of the puller stud could occur. The sudden failure of the puller stud could result in personal injury or death.

1. Remove bolt (1) and retainer (3).

2. Remove pin (2).

3. Attach suitable lifting device to arm assembly (8). The weight of arm assembly (8) is approximately 29 kg (64 lb).

4. Remove bolt (5) and lock (6).

5. Remove bolt (4) and pin (7). Remove arm assembly (8).

6. Remove seals (9).

7. Use Tooling (A) to remove bearings (10). Remove bearings (10).

Installation Procedure

1. Use Tooling (A) to install bearings (10). Install bearings (10). Install bearings (10) to a dimension of 7.2 ± 0.4 mm (0.28 ± 0.02 inch) below the inside face of the axle.

2. Use Tooling (B) to install seals (9). Install seals (9).

3. Attach suitable lifting device to arm assembly (8). The weight of arm assembly (8) is approximately 29 kg (64 lb). Install arm assembly (8).

4. Install pin (7) and bolt (4).

5. Install lock (6) and bolt (5).

6. Install pin (2). Install retainer (3) and bolt (1).

End By:

1. Install the wheel spindle and wheel spindle housing.

2. Install the wheel lean bar.
