New Grommets Improve Support for Travel Lines on Certain 320, 320 GC, and 323 Excavators {5057, 5058} Caterpillar

323 (S/N: BR91-186; DWF1-135; YBL1-10004; RAZ1-1160)

Description Of Change: Grommets are now attached to the travel line hoses in front of the control valve for the machines listed above. These grommets prevent unexpected interference of the travel line hoses.

The hoses on field machines are routed so as not to interfere with each other when assembled in facilities. The interference will not occur on the existed field machines. If having difficulty routing travel line hoses not to interfere with each other after removing and reassembling the hoses of the field machines, use the following procedure:

Grommets and straps routing the travel lines away from the swing drive (1) 289-5700 Grommet (2) 7K-1181 Cable Strap

1. Install 2 289-5700 Grommets on the travel line hoses, illustration 2, at places where the hoses are close to each other, illustration 1.

2. Tighten the grommets with 2 7K-1181 Cable Strap at once, illustration 2. Cut the extra straps after fixing the grommets.
