Improved Switch Assembly for Quick Coupler Is Now Used on Certain 320, 320 GC, and 323 Excavators {1435}

Usage:

323 (S/N: BR91-174; YBL1-204; RAZ1-718)

Description Of Change: A new switch for the quick coupler is now used on the machines listed above. The new switch is more durable against unexpected external upward forces.

Adaptable To: The following part is adaptable to the machines within the listed serial numbers, and is effective with all machines after the listed serial numbers. Refer to Table 1 for the new part number.

The improved switch can be specified by checking the part number "498-9091HExx" on the surface of the switch assembly. The improved switch will display "03" or greater in place of the "xx" in the part number.

Operate the quick coupler switch as explained below. No external upward force will be loaded on the red tab during correct operating procedure.

  1. Slide the red tab (2) forward (A).

  2. Push down (B) the back half of the switch, holding the slid red tab.
