Fuel Filter (Primary) and Fuel Filter Base - Remove and Install

Note: The fuel filter elements can be serviced or replaced without removing the entire filter and base assembly from the machine.

------ WARNING! ------

Personal injury or death can result from a fire.

Fuel leaked or spilled onto hot surfaces or electrical components can cause a fire.

Clean up all leaked or spilled fuel. Do not smoke while working on the fuel system.

Turn the disconnect switch OFF or disconnect the battery when changing fuel filters.


Start By:

  1. Remove the fuel pump (electric) - clean fuel module.

  1. Remove cable straps (1), bolts (2), and cover (3).

  2. Disconnect sensor (4).

  3. Drain filter assemblies (5) into a suitable container for storage or disposal.

  4. Use Tooling (A) to remove filter assemblies (5).

  5. Remove bolts (6) and filter base assembly (7).

  6. Remove dust cap (8), valve (9), O-ring seal (10), adapter (11), and O-ring seal (12).

  7. Remove plug (13) and O-ring seal (14).

  8. Remove bolts (15) and separate filter bases (16).

  9. Remove O-ring seals (17).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install filter base assembly (7) and filter assemblies (5) in the reverse order of removal.
