Engine Oil Cooler - Disassemble

Disassembly Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove engine oil cooler.


NOTICE

Inspect all O-rings, seals, and gaskets for wear and damage. Replace if necessary.

    Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a released spring force.

    Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment.

    Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.


  1. Remove plug (5), O-ring (4), spring (3), and bypass valve (2) from elbow assembly (1).

  2. Remove plugs (6) and (8) and O-rings (7) and (9) from oil cooler assembly (10).

  3. Remove 12 bolts (11) and bonnet (12).

  4. Repeat step 3 on the opposite side.
