Air Starting Motor - Remove

Removal Procedure


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.


------ WARNING! ------

Shut off the air supply at the air reservoir. Drain the pressure air from the air starting system. Sudden release of pressure air can cause personal injury.


  1. Turn OFF the air supply at the air reservoir. Ensure that the air pressure is drained from the starting air system.

  2. Disconnect harness assembly from air starting motor.

  3. Attach a suitable lifting device to the air starting motor (2). The air starting motor weighs approximately 24 kg (53 lb).

  4. Remove three bolts (1) and remove the air starting motor (2).
