Fuel Filter Housing - Remove

Removal Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove auxiliary fuel filter housing.


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.



NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.


  1. Shut OFF the fuel supply to the engine.

  2. Disconnect tube assembly (1) and remove tube assembly (2).

  3. Disconnect tube assembly (3) and remove tube assembly (4).

  4. Remove bolts (5) and tube assembly (6).

  5. Attach a suitable lifting device to fuel filter housing (8). The weight of fuel filter housing is approximately 30 kg (66 lb).

  6. Use a suitable lifting device and remove bolts (7) and fuel filter housing (8).
