CX38-P892 Well Servicing Transmission Caterpillar

Transmission Does Not Automatically Shift Back Into Gear

Usage:

CX38-P800 A3X
The transmission does not allow shifts into a gear due to a possible failure in the Quick to Neutral, the Lock to Neutral or the Park Brake Neutralize feature. These features may include the following programming:

  • Neutralizer Switch Installation - Installed

  • Lock to Neutral Switch Installation - Installed

  • Parking Brake Neutralization - Enabled

Normal Operation - When the Quick to Neutral (Neutralizer) switch is off (closed), the Lock to Neutral switch is off (closed), and the Park Brake is off, the transmission allows shifts out of neutral.

Check the following:

  • Verify that the Quick to Neutral switch is closed and the feature is off by viewing the status for the Neutralizer Switch in the Caterpillar Electronic Technician (Cat ET).

  • Verify that the Lock to Neutral switch is closed and the feature is off by viewing the status for the Transmission Lockout in Cat ET.

  • Verify that the Park Brake switch is off by viewing the status for the Park Brake in Cat ET.
