Description Of Change: Failure Analysis has been updated to include more possible failure modes caused by poor maintenance practices and poor performing injectors. Internal injector damage, due to low-pressure fuels systems issues, cause high cylinder temps, cylinder to cylinder temperature variation, and abnormal fueling events resulting in cracked intake valves.
Adaptable To: It is recommended to: change poor performing injectors to reduce cylinder to cylinder temperature variation. Clean the air manifolds and clean the after cooler core of any internal debris . Adjust monitoring system set points to warn the customer of possible issue. Activate the high exhaust temperature warning/shutdowns based on specific sites operating conditions and customer needs. If an intake valve fails, replace it with a 273-1224 Inlet Valve.
