Introduction

Caterpillar is aware of the issue, but there is not a solution at this time.

Problem

Caterpillar is experiencing many No Fault Found returns of the Tier 4 high-pressure fuel pumps. One of every four pumps returned to Caterpillar is found to pass End of Line (EOL) testing procedures and bench tests.

Solution

Due to a high number of No Fault Found high-pressure fuel pumps being returned to Caterpillar, dealers are now required to fill out the High-Pressure Fuel pump return form to get credit for pump returns. Failure to do so may result in a debited claim.

The form is available for download on SIS web, refer to Special Instruction, REHS9724, High Pressure Fuel Pump Return Form.
