- Align bearings (12) in the body of engine oil pump (9). The bearing joints should be 45 ± 15 degrees from the centerline of the bearing bores.
- Use Tooling (A) and a suitable press to install bearings (12). The bearings must be
1.5 ± 0.5 mm (0.06 ± 0.02 inch) below the gear bore. The diameter of the bearings must be31.811 ± 0.013 mm (1.2524 ± 0.0005 inch) after installation.Show/hide tableIllustration 2 g00591964 - Replace gears (11) and the shaft assemblies, if necessary.

6.0 ± 0.5 mm (0.24 ± 0.02 inch) above the surface of the cover. - Use Tooling (A) and a suitable press to install bearings (8) in cover assembly (7) with the bearing joints in the correct position. The bearing joints should be 45 ± 15 degrees from the centerline of the bearing bores.
- Install cover assembly (7) on the engine oil pump.

6.0 ± 1.0 mm (0.24 ± 0.04 inch) above the surface of the cover. - Install the gasket and cover assembly (6) on the engine oil pump.

- Place clean engine oil on valve spool (5). Install spring (4), gasket (3), cover (2), and bolts (1).
