Engine Oil Cooler - Assemble
Note: Check the O-ring seals, the gaskets, and the seals for wear or for damage. Replace the components, if necessary.
Note: Lubricate the O-ring seals with the oil that is being used.

- Make sure that the tubes in engine oil cooler core (3) are clean.

Illustration 2 g01348858 - Install the O-ring seal and cover (14), if necessary.
- Install the O-ring seal and drain plug (15), if necessary.
- Install the gasket and bonnet (5) on engine oil cooler core (3) in the orientation that was noted during the disassembly procedure. Install the bolts.

To prevent possible injury, follow the established assembly procedure and wear protective equipment.
- Install bypass valve (12) and spring (11) in elbow (6). Install O-ring seal (10) and lubricate the O-ring seal with clean engine oil. Install cover (9) and bolts (13).

Illustration 4 g01348740 - Install the O-ring seal on elbow (6) and install elbow (6) on the engine oil cooler with the bolts.
- Install the O-ring seals on tube (7) and lubricate the O-ring seals with clean engine oil. Install tube (7) and elbow (8) on elbow (6).
- Lubricate the O-ring seals with clean engine oil. Install the tube in bonnet (5).

Illustration 5 g01004559 - Install the gasket and bonnet (4) on engine oil cooler core (3) in the location that was marked during the disassembly procedure. Install the bolts in bonnet (4).

Illustration 6 g01004313 - Install the O-ring seals on both ends of tube (2). Lubricate the O-ring seals with clean engine oil. Install tube (2) in elbow (1).
- Install the O-ring seal on elbow (1) and lubricate the O-ring seal with clean engine oil. Install elbow (1) and tube (2) with the bolts on the engine oil cooler core.

Note: Make sure that you do not damage the tubes in engine oil cooler core (3) during the cleaning.
