Description of Change: A new version of Caterpillar Driver Information or Cat I.D. 2.1 is available to correct some software problems that exist with Cat I.D. 2.0. When the Electronic Control Module (ECM) Lifetime Total Miles goes above 6553 miles, the following two problems exist:

- * The Driver Total Miles, Fleet Total Miles, Average Fuel Economy and Average Fuel Economy values under the Instantaneous Data Screen are displayed incorrectly.

- * The language selection will default back to English when the key switch is cycled.
If these problems are encountered, do not replace the Cat I.D. Display module. Verify that Cat I.D. 2.0 is being used and upgrade the software to Version 2.1.
Adaptable To: The new 168-7931 Control Group (Cat I.D. Software Version 2.1) is a direct replacement for the former personality module in the 166-4092 Display Group (Electronic). The new 168-7931 Control Group (Cat I.D. Software Version 2.1) should have 2.1 stamped on the outside while the old personality module should have 2.0 stamped on the outside.
