Special instructions that describe the requirements for converting the air compressor air supply from a pressurized air supply to a naturally aspirated air supply are now available for the above listed truck engines that are equipped with four cylinder air compressors. Changing the air compressor air supply from boosted to naturally aspirated will eliminate the air compressor inlet regulating valve (IRV). The air compressor IRV must be maintained every 48,280 kilometers (30,000 miles).
There are three different special instructions available. Order the special instruction that is listed for your truck engine(s). The special instructions are available through normal Caterpillar literature ordering channels.
