--------------- END SUPPLEMENT ---------------

Description of Change: New supply tube assemblies, drain tube assemblies, seals, and bolts are used in the turbocharger oil lines groups used with "mid-mount", "new mid-mount", and "low mount" turbocharger arrangements. The new supply tube assemblies include a teflon tube with a braided stainless steel covering. The new seals must be used with the new supply tube assemblies and new drain tube assemblies.

NOTE: The former seals are still available and are to be used for all repairs on the earlier serial number engines.

Adaptable To: Chart A identifies the changes to the 103-3254 Turbocharger Oil Lines Group (traditional "Mid-Mount" design used with 100-5693 Exhaust Manifold Center Section). The new components in this group are effective with 3406C (8PN10645) and 3406E (5EK89282) Truck Engines.

Chart B identifies the changes to the 103-3263 Turbocharger Oil Lines Group (new "Mid-Mount" design with drain to cylinder block used with 100-5694 Exhaust Manifold Center Section). The new components in this group are effective with 3406C (8PN10832) and 3406E (5EK90844) Truck Engines.

Chart C identifies the changes to the 114-1918 Turbocharger Oil Lines Group (new "Mid-Mount" design with drain to oil pan used with 100-5694 Exhaust Manifold Center Section). The new components in this group are effective with 3406C (8PN10832) and 3406E (5EK90844) Truck Engines.

Chart D identifies the changes to the 116-8710 Turbocharger Oil Lines Group ("Low Mount" design with drain to oil pan used with 100-5695 Exhaust Manifold Center Section). The new components in this group are effective with 3406C (8PN11165) and 3406E (5EK94834) Truck Engines.

Chart E identifies the changes to the 114-1917 Turbocharger Oil Lines Group ("Low Mount" design with drain to cylinder block used with 100-5695 Exhaust Manifold Center Section). The new components in this group are effective with 3406C (8PN11165) and 3406E (5EK94834) Truck Engines.

136-7363 Elbow Assembly And 137-7343 Connector Assembly Installation Procedure

The 136-7363 Elbow Assembly and 137-7343 Connector Assembly include an adjustable O-ring boss. Use the following procedure to correctly install these fittings:

Illustration 2. Identification of components. Locknut (A). Back-Up Washer (B). O-ring Seal (C). Non-threaded section of fitting (D).

1. Prior to installation, the O-ring seal (C) and back-up washer (B) should be in on the non-threaded section (D) of the fitting nearest to the locknut (A). See Illustration 2. Lubricate O-ring seal (C) with clean engine oil.

Illustration 3. Identification of components. Locknut (A). Back-Up Washer (B). O-ring Seal (C). Non-threaded section of fitting (D). Face of boss (E).

2. Tighten the fitting by hand into the straight thread boss until the back-up washer (B) contacts the face (E) of the boss. See Illustration 3.

3. In order to correctly position the fitting, loosen the fitting one full turn. Then hold the fitting in the desired position and tighten the locknut (A) until the back-up washer (B) contacts the face (E) of the boss and forces the O-ring seal (C) within the boss cavity. See Illustration 4.
