New Chrome-Plated Stem On Exhaust Valve Increases Valve And Valve Guide Wear Life{1105,1100}

3208 (02Z) Truck Engine

Description of Change: A new exhaust valve with a chrome-plated stem has replaced a former exhaust valve on the above truck engine. The new chrome-plated stem increases the wear life for the valve and cylinder head valve guide.

Adaptable To: The new 119-6772 Exhaust Valve with chrome-plated stem cancels and replaces the former 9N-5125 Exhaust Valve.

NOTE: The chrome-plating (length "B") is visible on the stem. However, the plating hides the weld joint between the chrome-nickel alloy head and the steel stem. The head, facing, and stem for the new exhaust valve are made of the same materials as for the former exhaust valve.

The new 119-6772 Exhaust Valve is effective with the 3208 (79V25097-Up) Truck Engine and is adaptable to first production of all earler 3208 (02Z) Truck Engines. The 119-6772 Exhaust Valve is compatible with both standard machined into the iron cylinder head casting and pressed in valve guides.
