New Idler Gear Stub Shaft Assembly And Idler Gear Assembly Used In Front Gear Group{1206}

3406E (5EK81739-Up, 6TS1-Up) Truck Engines

Description of Change: A new idler gear stub shaft assembly and idler gear assembly are used in the front gear group on these truck engines. The new idler gear stub shaft assembly has a shorter stub shaft and the width of the new idler gear assembly is narrower at the hub. These changes will provide increased service life.

Adaptable To: The new 130-2979 Idler Gear Stub Shaft Assembly (1) and new 130-4701 Idler Gear Assembly (2), WHEN USED TOGETHER, are direct replacements for the former 6I-3621 Idler Gear Stub Shaft Assembly and former 6I-3618 Idler Gear Assembly in the 102-8397 Front Gear Group. The former idler gear stub shaft assembly and idler gear assembly are canceled. The new components are in effect as shown in the subtitle.

Locations of the new 130-2979 Idler Gear Stub Shaft Assembly (1) and new 130-4701 Idler Gear Assembly (2) in the 102-8397 Front Gear Group.
