View of the hydraulic tank with 283-0025 Tube As (1) .

Certain Off-Highway Trucks are experiencing breakage of the 283-0025 Tube As (1), located in the 281-4551 Hydraulic Tank Cover As . The failure of the baffle tube in the hydraulic tank can cause aeration of the hydraulic oil. The aeration may damage the hoist and brake pump. If, the brake and hoist group fails, check the hydraulic tank to make sure that the baffle tube has not also failed.

Solution

Caterpillar is looking into this problem, but an Interim Repair has not been defined. Replace with same part. If you have an effective Interim Repair, communicate the solution via DSN and include the TIB or CPI Issue number.
