Rocker Arm Modification To Provide Increased Lubrication To Camshaft Roller Followers (Valve Lifters) {1209}
Usage:
3306C (7RJ, 9TL) Truck Engines
This modification is recommended for 3306C Truck Engines equipped with roller type valve lifters. If there is any kind of repair that requires the removal of the rocker arm assembly, OR if there is any kind of abnormal noise caused by the valve lifters, a groove can be machined into the rocker arms as shown in the illustration. The added groove intersects the oil supply hole in the rocker arm and allows additional oil to flow to the valve lifter bore in the cylinder block. This additional oil will provide improved lubrication for the valve lifters.
Location of the 1.5 to 2.0 mm (.06 to .08 in) deep groove to be machined into the rocker arm.
