Description of Change: This article replaces the article titled "Adapter Ring Required For 6I-0799 Exhaust Restrictor Group" on Page 1 of the July 1995 issue of Truck Engine News.

In certain applications, mounting the exhaust restrictor in its normal location on the turbocharger turbine housing is impractical or impossible because of space limitations. In those situations, the adapter ring permits installation of the exhaust restrictor elsewhere on the exhaust system.

NOTE: Always install the exhaust restrictor in a horizontal position.

Adaptable To: An adapter ring may be required when installing the 6I0799 Exhaust Restrictor Group on some of truck engines shown above.

NOTE: No part number has been assigned to the adapter ring. It is not available through the normal parts system. Contact the 3400 Engine Product Analyst at (309) 578-2434 to obtain the adapter ring. For further installation information, see the above Reference Article and the instructions included with the 6I-0799 Exhaust Restrictor Group.
