Check the Engine Specifications Manual to see if the correct valve projection specification is included. The valve projection specification is the dimension from the face of the closed valve to the machined surface of the cylinder head. Chart A identifies the valve projection specification for new components for 3406, 3406B, 3406C, and 3408 Truck Engines. Chart B identifies the valve projection specification for new components for 3406E Truck Engines. Chart C identifies the valve projection specification for reconditioned components 3406, 3406B, 3406C, and 3408 Truck Engines. Chart D identifies the valve projection specification for reconditioned components 3406E Truck Engines.
