Start By:
- Remove the fan.

Thoroughly inspect the viscous damper for signs of leakage or for signs of a dented (damaged) case. Either of these conditions can cause the weight to make contact with the case. This can affect the viscous damper's operation. |
- Loosen nut (1) and bolt (2).
- Turn bolt (2) counterclockwise in order to loosen belts (3).
- Remove belts (3) from the damper pulley.

Illustration 2 g03414116 - Remove one of bolts (6) and install Tooling (A).
- Use two people to remove vibration damper (4). The weight of vibration damper (4) is approximately
35 kg (77 lb) . - Remove remaining bolts (6). Remove pulley (5).
- Remove vibration damper (4).
- Remove Tooling (A) from the crankshaft.

- Install vibration damper (4) and pulley (5) in the reverse order of removal.
- Apply Tooling (B) to bolts (6).
