Fuel Filter Housings - Assemble

Assembly Procedure


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

    ------ WARNING! ------

    Improper assembly of parts that are spring loaded can cause bodily injury.

    To prevent possible injury, follow the established assembly procedure and wear protective equipment.


  1. Put O-ring seal (15) and cover (14) in position on housing (6) and install the bolts that hold the cover in place.

  2. Put valve (17) in position in housing (6).

  3. Install O-ring seal (9) on plug (8). Put clean engine oil on the plug.

  4. The groove of valve (17) must be aligned with the opening for plug (8). Install plug (8) in housing (6).

  5. Install O-ring seal (12) on plug (13). Put clean engine oil on the O-ring seal.

  6. Install ball (10), spring (11), and plug (13) in housing (6).

  7. Install O-ring seals (16) and (18). Put housing (6) in position on the end of the fuel filter housing and install the bolts that hold the housing in place.

  8. Put shaft assembly (7) in position on the valve and install bolt (5).

  9. Install check valves (4). The arrows must be pointing away from housing (6).

  10. Install tube assembly (3).

  11. If the engine is equipped with check valves, install check valves (2) and tube assembly (1). The arrows on the housing must be pointing away from housing (6).

End By:

  1. Install the fuel filter housings. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Fuel Filter Housings - Install".
