Fuel Filter Housings - Disassemble

Usage:

C280-16 ENS

Disassembly Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove the fuel filter housings. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Fuel Filter Housings - Remove".


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.


Note: The fuel filter housing can be assembled for either right-hand service or left-hand service. Mark the location of the valve housing and the filter housing before disassembly.

  1. Remove tube assembly (1) and check valves (2) if the engine is equipped with check valves.

  2. Remove tube assembly (3).

    Note: Tube assembly (3) is not used on some engine arrangements.

  3. Remove check valves (4).

  4. Remove bolt (5) and disconnect shaft assembly (7) from the valve.

  5. Remove the bolts that hold housing (6) in place on the fuel filter housing and remove the fuel filter housing.

    ------ WARNING! ------

    Personal injury can result from parts and/or covers under spring pressure.

    Spring force will be released when covers are removed.

    Be prepared to hold spring loaded covers as the bolts are loosened.


  6. Remove O-ring seals (16) and (18).

  7. Remove plug (13), spring (11), and ball (10). Remove O-ring seal (12) from the plug.

  8. Remove plug (8) from housing (6). Remove O-ring seal (9) from the plug.

  9. Remove valve (17) from housing (6).

  10. Remove cover (14) and O-ring seal (15) from housing (6).
