Procedure To Repair Damaged Oil Pan Drain Hole Threads

In Step 3, the torque is not correct. The correct Step 3 follows:
3. Tighten the 2P0347 Plug to a torque of 25 N ·m (18 lb ft).

If the threads in the oil drain hole in the oil pan are damaged, use the procedure that follows.
1. Use a 3/4in-16 Tap to extend the threads the full depth of the hole.
2. Replace the 9X2230 Oil Drain Plug and 8L2786 ORing Seal with a 2P0347 Plug and 1S8947 O-ring Seal. The 2P0347 Plug has an internal 3/8 inch square drive.
3. Tighten the 2P0347 Plug to a torque of 25 N ·m (18 lb in).
