Engine News SEBD9802, 15 August 2013, "New Jacket Water Heater System Components Are Used on Certain 3500 and C175 Generator Set Engines". Disregard the previous article. Refer to the article that follows, effectivity has been added.

Description of Change: The new pumps used in the jacket water heater system are an O-ring Face (ORF) design. The new ORF style pump has a more secure connection than the former flange style pump.

Adaptable To: The new pumps are adaptable to the former jacket water heater group containing a flange style pump using the guidelines listed below. The new pumps, reservoir kit, and adapters are listed in Table 1 and 2. The new pumps are effective on 3500 and C175 engines and generator sets built starting February 2012. The new pumps are effective on C27 and C32 generator sets built after November 2012.

Refer to the information below to retrofit or replace existing systems.

To update the flange style pump and/or tank replacement on a 50Hz package refer to Illustrations 1 and 3, and Table 1.

To update the flange style pump and/or tank replacement on a 60Hz package refer to Illustrations 1 and 4, and Table 1.

For servicing the ORF style pump and/or tank replacement refer to Illustration 2 and Table 2.
