Fuel Cooler - Remove and Install

Usage:

C18 DTP

Removal Procedure

    ------ WARNING! ------

    Personal injury or death can result from a fire.

    Fuel leaked or spilled onto hot surfaces or electrical components can cause a fire.

    Clean up all leaked or spilled fuel. Do not smoke while working on the fuel system.

    Turn the disconnect switch OFF or disconnect the battery when changing fuel filters.


  1. Turn the fuel supply to the OFF position.

  2. Relieve fuel pressure by opening relief valve.

  3. Disconnect tube assembly (1) and remove the elbow adapter.

  4. Disconnect hose assemblies (2) and (3).

  5. Remove adapters (4) and (5). Remove elbow assembly (8).

  6. Remove four bolts (6) and remove fuel cooler (7).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install fuel cooler (7) in the reverse order of removal.

    1. Tighten adapter (4) and elbow assembly (8) to a torque of 82 ± 5 N·m (60 ± 4 lb ft).
