在起动后和在寒冷天气长期怠速期间,本发动机使用将处于冷缸断缸的策略来减少白烟。

在冷起动和/或长期低怠速运转期间。 发动机电子控制模块(ECM)一次关闭一个单体喷油器,通过监控输送的燃油量变化来确定各缸是否发火。 如果某一缸发火,ECM 就会接通该缸的喷油器。 如果某一缸不发火,该缸的喷油器就会被断开。 此冷缸断缸提供了以下优势:减少白烟, 改善了发动机起动, 减少乙醚喷射的使用 和 缩短暖机时间。

注: 冷缸断缸操作期间,发动机可能给人感觉好象是缺火。 此情况为正常现象。 没有必要采取如何纠正措施。

冷缸断缸操作是在满足下述所有条件的基础上才启动的:

  • 冷缸断缸被编程设定为启用。

  • 发动机转速等于或低于高怠速。

  • 输送的燃油值小于 275 mm (10.8 in)。

  • 水套水冷却液温度低于 63 °C (145 °F) 或进气温度低于 10° C (50° F)。

发动机起动并达到怠速转速后,冷缸断缸策略启动 10 秒钟。 或在完成乙醚喷射后 3 秒钟。

如果符合下述任一条件,冷缸断缸就会停止操作:

  • 可通过 Caterpillar 电子技师(Cat ET)来停止冷缸断缸操作。

  • 水套水冷却液温度上升到超过 70 °C (158 °F)。

  • 启动了断缸测试。

  • 使用了乙醚喷射。

  • 冷却液温度传感器有故障。

如果输送的燃油量大于 275 mm (10.8 in),冷缸断缸停止操作 3 秒钟。

当冷缸断缸操作开始后,发动机的转速变化超过 ± 50 rpm 时,冷缸断缸将会停止操作 3 秒钟。 新的发动机转速会在冷缸断缸操作重新启动时建立起来。

当发动机转速处于低怠速 10 秒钟,发动机转速降至低怠速以下超过 50 rpm 时,冷缸断缸就会停止操作 30 秒钟。
