- Remove the engine oil pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine Oil Pump - Remove".

- Remove adapter (1) and the gasket.

Spring force will be released when covers are removed.
Be prepared to hold spring loaded covers as the bolts are loosened.
- Remove the bolts and cover (2). Remove gasket (3), spring (4), and valve spool (5).
