Replacing the Lock Assembly on Certain Generator Sets {7274}

All 142-6952 Locks being replaced on the serial numbers listed above that were built before 1February 2010 must be replaced with the same part number.

All 142-6952 Locks that are not being replaced must be lubricated with 242-6990 Lubricant or an equivalent. Refer to Illustration 1 through Illustration 4 for the locations to apply the lubricant.

Note: When closing the lock assembly, ensure that the lock is fully engaged with tension felt and no slip when the door handle is lifted.

The lock manufacturer has applied lubricant to all locks shipped after 1January 2010. The manufacturer lubricates the lock cylinders and greases the back of the latch metal on metal sliding mechanism.
