Use Proper Procedures with Speed/Timing Sensor Diagnostic Codes for C175 Generator Set Engines {1408, 1439, 1912}

Usage:

C175-16 WYB
Generator Set:
C175-16 (S/N: WYB1-UP)

If any of the following diagnostic codes are generated during operation of a C175 Engine, remove the engine from service immediately for repair. Do not delay the repair until the next planned maintenance. Do not return the engine to service until the repair is completed. For the proper procedure, refer to Troubleshooting, RENR9339.

  • 190-8 Engine Speed Sensor : Abnormal Frequency, Pulse Width, or Period

  • 342-8 Secondary Engine Speed Sensor : Abnormal Frequency, Pulse Width, or Period

  • 342-11 Secondary Engine Speed Sensor : Other Failure Mode

  • 2710-8 Engine Tertiary Speed Sensor : Abnormal Frequency, Pulse Width, or Period

  • 2710-11 Engine Tertiary Speed Sensor : Other Failure Mode

Repair of Wiring Harnesses for Speed/Timing Sensors

If the wiring must be repaired, twisted pair wiring is required. The twisted pair wiring prevents electrical noise from interfering with the signals form the sensors.

Any new wiring must have at least one twist per inch. If only one wire is damaged, two new wires must be routed and the wires must be twisted together.
